The Final blog.... 23.7.13
As most of you are aware, I have been absent from school for what seems like ages now, but it really hasn't been that long. I haven't blogged for awhile because life was getting hectic, what with finishing reports as well as knowing myself that I would be finishing the school year earlier and trying to get prepared. Only a small group of people knew that I would be finishing and knew that I was trying to get everything ready to hand over. Parents and staff knew at the same time as I had to let everyone know why I wouldn't be able to finish award ceremonies or end of year plays. Gutted!!!
The end of the year is my favourite time of year as it is an opportunity to relive the whole year and to recognise the achievements of both individuals and school as a collective. I couldn't have done this hand over without a few people who have my complete trust! I am a very insular person and didn't want to share my news with the whole world and that is why when asked what was happening to me, I wasn't prepared to tell. I know some are still asking. Yes it leaves everything open to speculation, but if that is what it takes then, hey ho. The surgery has taken place and I can already say that it has given me my life back!
So, today is the final day in school, I have had the opportunity to share with everyone through this blog, the ups and the downs, the rants (of which many have been had) and the joyous events at Lyndon Green. From the very start, this blog was designed to be a unique angle for a school and somedays it dragged onto new heights of bizarreness, however, I do hope from reading it you can see how very proud I am to be the Head Teacher of this school, with all its peculiarities. I will say one thing, it is a school of laughter. We laugh together, we laugh at each other but most of all we help the children to enjoy and express themselves through learning. I think when you start at LGJS you are given a special chip inserted under the skin, because it definitely does get under the skin, it takes over. However, I did make a very quick journey into school for a specific reason today and....I felt a tremor in the force, a lack of belonging, maybe the journey has become to much, maybe the twitch has started.....
This year has been immense, the new curriculum has seen our children flourish, express and most of all smile through their learning, from visits to visitors, mudslides to archaeologists, the events are far too numerous. It has been a blast! For what it is worth, our end of year SATs results match our Teacher Assessments and show that this year has been special.
Looking back through this blog, I cannot believe how strange it often appears, from talking about Ralphie and Venelope to everyones friend, Micheal Gove. Where would I be without him? And even more bizarre is the popularity of the school blog in Poland, we have now reached 10,461 unique visitors since January, that is just plain silly. I have had invites from far and wide now to blog for other bloggers as well as do guest slots on different materials, sadly I don't know enough for all that!
It is time to shut down, to try and unwind and to finally recover. September isn't that far and we will do this all again. I have split the blog up today with the pictures below from the whole school over the last couple of weeks and then two specific slideshows for our Year 6. I love the one of their time throughout our school. To see how they have grown, developed and changed is fabulous.
So in the words of Snow Patrol, knowing that the next month (I said it properly Mrs. P) will be hibernation before I come out from the shadows, I have one simple question:
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Chasing Cars. Snow Patrol
Have an amazing Summer, I hope to see you all in September, keep well and most of all have fun.

Mr. R
Year 6
I don't have much to say to you that I haven't said before. I am proud of each and everyone of you, now go and show the world what being made in Sheldon is like. Let your star shine from deep within but most of all look back and when you think of LGJS put a cheeky grin on your face and smile knowingly that you were good, very good.
I will leave you with a quote from Marva Collins
Success doesn't come to you! You go to it
And finally one from Stephen Hawking:
Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious, and however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up

Dear Parents, Please forgive me... 28.6.13
Dear Parents
I am writing to you today to apologise most sincerely, with every bone in my body for the picture to the left. In the picture on the left you can see what tantamounts to something called fun. Fun should be banned from all schools and children should only be seen to be copying out information from text books.
I know, we have gone too far this time. It is irresponsible of me to even allow the activity on the left of the screen to take place in my school. I don't think that this type of activitiy to celebrate Mud day is acceptable. I apologise if your child participated in this activity this afternoon and they did not enjoy it. It is clear from the picture that the child photographed is being subjected to unprecedented levels of misery. The children behind are not queueing up to have ago, they are very obviously being herded against their will to sliding through mud slides. I apologise once more.
In other news........medication taken....... I do not apologise at all, what brilliant fun, where else would this be happening in a school today? If someone can find me another school, where this activity has taken place today, then I will wear red!!!
A really busy day(I know I always say that) draws a busy and peculiar week to a close. This morning was taken over with the usual Achievement Assembly routine. However, today was a little different. I walked in towards the end of the hall filling up to talking, pointing etc. Isn't it amazing how the new projection image from the new projector could cause so much of a stir. It certainly did. Anyway, lots of certificates to hand out and it was brilliant to see so many children achieving inside and outside of school. So many appreciative children as well, great manners.
After assembly, it was time to tweet all the pictures of our winners etc before moving onto the main task of sending off the Year 6 Teacher Assessments to the DFE. Whilst we have to do tests for the Year 6, we are also trusted to use our judgements (who'd of thunked it, us little teachers being trusted????) Basically we do twice the work and in the end which judgements are trusted, the ones that measure 45 minutes of the children's time in school or the one that measures the child's performance over the four years in the school. You decide!!
Sadly, this was interrupted by a previously arranged fire drill. We really are quick in exiting the building. 2 mins 15 is really quick for everyone. All out calmly and quickly.
The afternoon was spent doing the newsletter and then a meeting with the Chair of Governors. The mud fun was taking place at the same time as the latter meeting, right outside my window, it looked brilliant and hopefully Mr. Crees will do the Forest School blog and you can see all the mud fun. I was dreading the end of the day. Why? Angry parents complaining about the state that their children had got into. None came, the children had cleaned themselves and kept the toilets where they changed really clean. The image above is going to be one I want to show the parents from Year 2 when they come to visit us on Thursday. It really epitomises our philosophy of education.
With school reports still to complete and a whole day in school tomorrow, I am going to end the blog at this point to spend time with little geek and her brother. In little geek news she took her first Cello exam today and was very proud of herself. Step back 24 hours and asking her to rehearse for one last time, she decided to play the worst that she could, why? Because she wanted to surprise us the following day with how well she could play. It didn't make up for the gnashing of my teeth but tonight I am a very proud daddy.
Hope to see you all tomorrow at our annual Summer Fayre, 12 - 3. Even you! Yes you from Poland I can see you hiding.
Once again, I do not apologise for letting our children have fun!

As I still have a schedule to keep with my reports checking,it is, I am afraid another short blog this evening. Doesn't the weather make the world feel right? I will not try to be sentimental and thoughtful again tonight, as yesterdays last comment on the blog was tore to pieces by certain individuals. (my staff) I do have a soft side and as I explained to those that called my comments 'mushy,' it came from the Chris Evans breakfast show on Radio 2.
Another day of little child contact today apart from appearing at times when I had a free minute. The reason? A full on day of interviews. We were looking for two new members of staff to join our team and we were successful. After initially short listing from 100 applicants down to 9, all the candidates gave us food for thought. It was a good day and whilst some may be disappointed, the next step is how to move forward and build upon that experience, coming back stronger when other opportunities arise. We do have new staff and we are looking forward to them joining us soon.
So that was me for the day, tomorrow brings a new day with lots still going on. I am out of school again tomorrow morning at the local consortium meeting and then returning to carry on checking reports.
We are hoping the sound system in the hall is completed at some time tomorrow so that the Year 6 can continue to rehearse. Bikeability enters a fourth day and we everyone needs to have their fingers crossed for the Tag Rugby team at the Regional finals.
Pictures from Twitter can be found below as well as four pictures from Friday of the Achievement Certificate winners. Well done to everyone.
Have a super evening. Very quick note, this blog has now had nearly 9500 unique reader since its inception 6 months ago. Once again, thank you for taking your time to read and comment and I promise you will see more content once my reports schedule is over.
I thought I would try a new angle

Dog chewing on couch cushions? Pour a bit of lemon juice on corners. Dogs do not like citrus.
(Disclaimer, do not blame me for the lemony smell in your home!)

To be blunt..... 25.6.13
There are times when I come to sit and write the blog which is supposed to be from my perspective and I find it very difficult to write. Today is one of those days and I will be brief as I need to keep on schedule with reports checking. I have done nothing else but paperwork and discussions. The paperwork is the usual for this time of year, finalising Teacher Assessment information as well as getting frustrated with the debacle that is the SATs. I will not go into what I think tonight because my spleen has been well and truly vented. After school, it was time for another SLT meeting to discuss the action plans for Science, SEN and ICT. We are really on the right path towards our developments for next year. I must remember though that there are a whole host of other things to consider and we must not run before we can walk. On the positive side we have had all the dates confirmed for our 'Playpod, scrapstore' for next year, so excited. We will see progress on this from October onwards. Frustratingly, I am still waiting for a couple of other quotes for the other playground before I can take it to Governors.
On that note I am going to leave it with a thought that I read today:
Instead of giving someone a piece of your mind, why not try giving them a piece of your heart. Would the world be a better place?
Thoughts on a postcard....

It has been awhile or I must remember my child's bike (ahem, Teacher!) 24.6.13
It has been so long, yet you still come back. I haven't blogged since last Tuesday and that was for a variety of reasons. Firstly, I was at a conference all day on Wednesday and believe me there was nothing to report back to you. Secondly, I wasn't in school on Thursday and Friday because of health issues. Thank you for asking, but no, not really, however I need to be back as this is one of the busiest times of year.
So what have we missed? Take a look at all the brilliant pictures below, lots of them are from today but quite a number are from Thursday and Friday. It was great to see the two football teams enjoying themselves and celebrating their second and third place finishes in the mini tournament.
Pictures below also show the staff that ran in the Race for Life in Solihull at the weekend. Well done to you all, you did a fabulous job and most of all, you all turned up for work today. Some sorry sights today with moans and groans but what a great cause! Proud of you all!
We truly are on the slide towards the Summer holidays, (that's a joke in itself) you can tell the moment and it is when the staff have handed in their reports. It now becomes my job to read through the 370 different reports, checking them for any errors (hopefully none) and then commenting on each of them. I dropped into school on Saturday to pick up a couple of classes to start going through them and have found no mistakes so far, that's because up until this morning I had read approximately, none. By the end of today I will have gone through two classes. I have a tight deadline for myself, off the top of my head, I think they are due out to parents on the 8th July. I like pressure. My favourite part of the report and one I would like on my own children's reports is the box about personal memories. In this box, I have asked staff to think what has made that pupil stand out, it could be a moment or a comment about their personality etc. It makes the whole process more and more personal. If I could, my reports would simply have general comment, the personal memory box, attitude to learning and a HT comment. However, I will say the reports I have read today are incredibly detailed and are very well thought out. Onwards and upwards.
As I said at the start of this blog we are moving on at a pace, we are waiting for our SATs papers to start arriving back, then the process of hoping thresholds remain the same before we work out percentages then they are officially released and we hope they compare.
Not only that, but we are preparing to welcome the children and families of the Year 2's, as they transfer from the Infant school. I know it can be a difficult process but we will support everyone through it and look forward to seeing everyone. If you are a new parent and have found this blog by accident or are an existing parent, can I give you a word of advice?
Don't worry, your children will have a brilliant time in the Juniors. We are different, we do have larger children, but we have so many exciting things in store. Your children will take to it quite easily and in our experience, and we have many years of doing this, it is the adults that find the whole process more difficult.
Today has been busy, from the pictures below you can see that we have had a trip to the Thinktank, class 10M as well as 28 children doing Bikeability. The Bikeability course will last all week and after opening it to Years 5 and 6 we have had to restrict it to just Year 6 as the numbers are at their maximum. Year 5, your turn will come after the holiday.
We are also currently undergoing work in the school hall for most of this week, this is to improve our sound facilities and visual capabilities, just in time for the Year 6 production.
On a last note, not sure if any one else watched the Lions this weekend against the Australians. I did and a few thoughts sprung to mind. Now I am English through and through and always support the English national team in every sport, but especially in the 6 nations. I love to see them beat the Scots and hate it when we get beat by the Welsh, however at the weekend that individuality of each nation had to come together to try and defeat the auld enemy, Australia, whilst I chuckle at the new definition of choker on Wikipedia, where it includes a reference to the Australian that missed two late penalties to win the game, I thought about how the school and the British and Irish Lions are connected. All allegiances have to disappear and the players have to collaborate to achieve the common goal. It is the same with children in school, we ask them to work together to achieve an outcome, in this case to complete tasks set by the Teacher. Each member in the class will take a different roll just like in the Lions. You have the forwards that dig and dig away to force the opposition back to allow the scrum half to deliver the ball to the backs to score. There are always those in school that continue try their hardest to succeed. There will always be those that are gifted and those that will show flashes of individual brilliance. Maybe I am reading to much into it and in future I should just enjoy the game.
That's all folks for this evening, lots still to do before I shut up shop this evening. Putting it simply, it is good to be back.

Dull as...... (fill in the missing word) 18.6.13
A really quick blog today because for the most part of today it would not enthral you, it would be more going through the essential motions that take place at this time of year. Or bore you to tears like me.
My day started in the City Centre, under the heading of a Resource Base HT meeting, you are all fully aware that we have a Cognition and Learning Resource Base in our school and this has children that have needs that range from ASD to Speech and Language. They are a great bunch and are not seen as an extra class, they are most definitely part of the whole school. Well it was supposed to be a meeting about our Resource Base and an opportunity to meet up with other HT's from across the city in similar circumstances or with different designations. I dislike things that seem to be a waste of time or that prevent me from being in school, it must have a purpose. I belong to the club of, why use a thousand words, where one will do. Today's meeting was one of those, scheduled to last from 9 - 11, it could have finished at 9:30. Hey that's life really.
Back into school and a quick trip down to the Infants to talk transition amongst a number of things, before flying back into the Juniors to say hello and a catch up with staff. I told you tonight wouldn't be that exciting. I suppose I could make a few things up or maybe copy someone else's blog, hey Jeffry?
My meeting in the afternoon is not even worth mentioning, the only bright side is that I could hear the rehearsals taking place from our Year 6 forOliver with a Twist. It is beginning to sound really good.
The best meeting of the day took place after school with the SLT, it was very focused and very reflective. Our main purpose was to start the process of action planning for next year. All I can say is that there is a lot to do, it is a big job. Some days you wish that you could take more time to talk through these issues for a longer period, however, it isn't always possible which means they have to go onto the back burner maybe for a week and you then have to start from scratch again but that is the nature of schools, sadly, he says tongue in cheek, 370 little individuals get in the way crying out for an education. Wouldn't change it for the world.
Apologies here and now but your children had a fabulous day today, I just wasn't there to share in it. Must do better Mr. R. Or ask whether meetings will be worthwhile before attending...
So there you go, finito for this evening. Those saying they would like the handbags that I am being offered, I am open to bribery. Midget gems and wine gums are a particular favourite or offers of villas in the sunshine for 6 weeks, I'm not fussy but it must have a pool and not a communal one, I like to be unsociable during holidays.

Honey I've broke the Internet and other disasters 17.6.13
Hello there, welcome back to another enthralling episode of the Head Teachers blog for Lyndon Green Junior School. Another incredibly busy day and the week ahead looks to be busy as well. I seem to be hither and thither this week, but it's all part of the job. I trust you had a super weekend? I didn't blog on Friday because I had no inclination to do it on Friday evening. The reason being is that the Rothwell minions have now got swimming on Friday evenings instead of Thursday and by the time I returned home from Bournville all I wanted to do was crash out with a nice chicken sag. It's funny because Friday was a really peculiar day... They always are.
You know the type of day when best laid plans are a waste of time. It is the day when Mrs. P isn't in school as she has her needlepoint lessons on that day, we joke that it always happens on a Friday, like I can't cope without her.(secretly I can't). Well this Friday it did. Packing the Tag Rugby team off, before doing an Achievement Assembly, everything was going smoothly, Mr. C was also out of school on a Forest School course, so we were light in terms of extra bodies, but we would survive. Or would we?
As the Tag Rugby team had been successful in getting to this round of competition we tried to rush through a purchase of new kit, it arrived an hour after they had left.
Then at 11:20 the local area suffers a power cut, I thoughtI had blown the fuses because I was carrying out maintenance on the drinks machine at but no.... The knock on is that Friday in our school is pizza and chips day in the dinner hall, meaning the busiest day of the week. It had just been cooked ready for the first sittings, and no way of keeping it hot. Ok, teamwork needed, tables scrubbed and get the dinners down early and feed the school. No problem. That was easy, we even coped with a wet lunchtime thrown on top. The power cut also meant the Internet had gone down as well, sadly this wasn't something I could sort, as rebooting in my eyes is turning the servers off and then on at the wall. Advice to find a switch in the router room fell on deaf ears as there were so many.... It would wait until Monday, it has, and all back to normal.
The Tag team arrived back and successfully managed to negotiate their way to the regional finals, so Mrs. G. had to fulfil her McDonalds promise, you can see that in the pictures below.
Back onto today and it was calm compared to Friday and no I am not making any connection between Mrs. P being in school. After a short spell covering a class (no stitch up this time) it was down to Monday paperwork as well as preparing for transition for the coming weeks. The staff are still in the throws of finalising individual reports, with a deadline of Friday looming, so that I can read them all and comment on them before they go out in July. I have had 3 sets so far, so I must make a head start in attacking them. I have had to only write Numeracy comments for the magnificent 7, so I get it easy, but I do have to check and comment on 370.
If you are wondering where the magnificent 7 are, I have released them back into the wild. I act as a booster Maths teacher, working with them on a small scale to make sure that they have the confidence of a small group to tackle their end of year tests. They are all doing well and I still have regular contact with them. It won't be long before I gain a new magnificent 7 or 8.
Busy day tomorrow, dashing from a HT resource base meeting to a transition meeting in the Infants, back up to a meeting about school dinners before topping off the day with a SLT meeting to discuss action planning for next year. All in a days work for a HT.
Thank you to my Polish viewers for their input again, yes you can copy bits of my blog, I could intersperse the blog with more pictures and no I don't want a Louis Vuitton handbag.
Have fun all, food calling.

The mysterious case of Celine Dion. 13.6.13
The picture to the left really sums up what today was all about, it was wet, wet, wet. No, not Marty Pellow but the stuff that makes you feel cold and miserable. Did it stop everyone having fun? Nope, it certainly didn't.
The title also suggests that we do have slightly strange goings on at LGJS but it is all good humoured. I was also taught a valuable lesson today as well. Simply, your staff will quite happily stitch you up and that preparation is the key to ensuring that you don't get stitched up.
I thought that today was going to be different from the moment I got in the car. Firstly, singing along to Celine Dion and the Titanic song. I am must apologise for it right now as it goes against my musical roots, also not knowing the words and making them up is just plain wrong. I have reflected on this and I promise to anyone that had the misfortune to hear me singing, it will not happen again. However, it did lead me to realise that I had quite a large wingspan whilst recreating that scene, you know the one. So if any children saw the office staff, myself and Mrs P kind of lying stretched on a desk and thought it was kind of strange, we were simply carrying out a Scientific study about the length of our wingspan.
Arriving in school, a quick debrief with Mrs. P after the eventful day of Drayton Manor, many items to discuss including cross Church going, googling your own school phone number and boxing. All very professional.
My day was to be quite stress free today, just how I like it, with paperwork to complete, emails to our new teachers and a small bit of class teaching time in the afternoon to enable a meeting to take place. Not too busy really but...
Yes the emails and the paperwork were completed and yes we waved Class 5E off on their trip to Sheldon Country Park and we got to lunchtime quite calmly. Then I heard a small rumour that my 20 minutes, yes 20 minutes cover was going to be spent in Forest School making river systems.... Now I don't know where in the world you are reading this and I know that there has been some quite bad weather on the continent, however, lunchtime came and it started, not light drizzle but rain on a biblical scale. I was half expecting Noah to walk through the door at one stage and ask for a place to stay because it was too bad for his Ark.
The rumors were true, yes I was to go outside, I haven't a problem with it, Forest School is one of the best things to happen to us at LGJS. What was wrong was....
No coat, only a suit jacket
No boots, only my brogues
The prospect of going outside with Noah was not looking good. I also was in the wrong car as I know in my car, I have walking boots, waterproofs etc. Time to manup, being from Manchester I'm used to the rain but this was the good stuff, the creme de la creme. Off we go, making all the right noises in front of the children, you know what I mean, it's only rain it won't hurt you....
Donning a waterproof from the school collection, sadly the trousers didn't quite fit so it was suit trousers only. The children loved it, my body, clothes and hair certainly didn't. Now I said 20 minutes, it turned into at least 45 and I could see the staff sniggering through the windows, offering me towels etc. So why not just come in? This is Forest School, we don't do that. Eventually, when I was allowed to come back in if you walked past the office or telephoned and heard the sound of hair dryers and fan heaters, then sorry, that was me. Yes I blew dry my clothes.
Learning point for today. Do not volunteer for cover again! I will get the sniggerers back. Sadly, the weather brought class 5E back a little earlier than expected but from what I have heard they had a brilliant time. The class out in the garden ended up water sliding, so all in all it was a brilliantly fun day with some of the strangest sights you will see ever taking place in school.
Thankyou for reading and all together.... Once more, you walkout the door and you'll know that my heart will go on..... (My words not Celine)

Catching fish and absenteeism 12.6.13
So another day draws to a close and it is time to move all the events of today and yesterday into our memory banks. Take the opportunities that come along, grasp them and remember that today was another great day of memory making. School was impeccably calm today.
Was it because we had two classes missing?
Or was it because over 40 Year 6 were visiting their next school?
Or was it just the highly planned sessions engaging all the pupils?
Let's go all of the above shall we?
Take away so many children and the place doesn't feel like it should do. Why so many out I hear you cry? ActUally you probably didn't, but just for Jeffry I am going to tell you anyway. It was the turn of Class 5M to visit Sheldon Country Park today as part of their Bend and Flow topic. The children of Class 5B had a great time yesterday, it allowed them to be proper children, jumping in the stream and hunting for insects and bugs. They were lucky enough to catch a loach, you can see it in the pictures below. It will be the turn of Class 5E tomorrow and I am sure like the the previous two classes, they will also have a brilliant time looking at the origins of streams and rivers. Will that loach be he most caught fish in England this week?
The other absentees today were Class 10M. They were visiting Drayton Manor Theme park today as guest of the Rotary Club. It is an annual event that allows children with special educational needs to spend time free of charge, basically enjoying themselves. A big thank you goes to the Rotary Club for their support of community based projects. I think they had a marvellous day by the look of the photographs. I am sure they will have many tales to tell tomorrow.
The Year 6's that are attending Lyndon Humanities College from September were also out today. They were involved in an orientation day, allowing them to be able to shadow current pupils in the school, helping them to find out where they are going before September.
Back to the ranch then. An interesting day in school with meetings taking place behind the scenes looking at the work that we are doing. Today was the turn of our Year 6 teachers to come under the gaze of the Local Authority. Actually, it was an ideal 'professional development opportunity,' too good to turn down. Every year a sample of schools are chosen to have their Writing moderated to ensure that the levels that we report to the Department for Education are accurate. I have every confidence in my staff and their reporting of results, so even though the pressure was on to make sure it was right, I still had an air of calm, even if they didn't. Basically, providing a sample of children's books and their corresponding levels meant that our judgement were being questioned. We provided work from Level 3-6, with a Level 6 being way above the expectations of a Junior school. I can happily say that every judgement was agreed and unusually we had no points for development. The work and the way we assess was an, 'example to all' and the Level 6 was 'remarkable, the best that I have seen.' Great stuff. Even though it was the Year 6 that was under scrutiny, it is also a recognition for the whole school and that the systems and processes that we carry out. Very proud HT.
In exciting news and looking at developments for next year and in some cases sooner, we have today placed an order for a complete new sound system in the hall, meaning that we are all systems go for the end of year and beyond. In even more exciting news, yes even more, I tweeted a late night tweet last night that went something along the lines of
Late night cryptic tweet. Scrap and play! Contact has been made. More excitement for LGJS.
I wonder what it is referring to? Any ideas? Well I think that if we do one thing for one, then we do another for others. Share the excitement out! As a reminder check out the Youtube clip below, this time it is a different one to the one posted before. Once again, thanks for reading and keep safe!

Dear Jeffry (it is spelt correctly) 11.6.13
Dear Jeffry
I am writing this personal blog simply for you. Jeffry is a reader of the blog and today has kindly left me a comment on the blog which made my day. Tracing the address left with the comment I am once again drawn to our friends in Poland. Now don't get me wrong but this has got to be the best comment ever. I respect every comment left for me whether it is a request to share our school blog, (which of course you can) to what platform I use to blog.(weekly.com) However, Jeffry's comment really has brightened up a very dull day of sitting at my desk completing tasks that need to be completed. It brought a smile to my tired face and reminded me of why I do this blog. Have I built it up enough? Because, actually you cannot make it up. Comments like the Jeffry's would be a reason to stop blogging. I think they could be referred to as internet trolls or misguided people.
Now the comment I received was simple... You just copied another persons tale (i.e.. blog)
Now when you think about it, it really does raise a smile, such a silly comment. Firstly, why? I have some form of a life and secondly, and this is the main point, we are unique, this doesn't happen anywhere else. So dearest Jeffry, please don't be so silly as to think I have nothing else to do with my life in the evenings as to pretend to be the Head Teacher of a school, please continue to read but I think you will find that the actions and words are mine and it is the events of Lyndon Green Junior School that I feed back on.
Think I have got that off my chest. I'm shattered. I know, I know, teachers are always complaining that they are tired, but simply put, a very early night is needed. No, it isn't because I have been trawling the internet looking for sites to pass off as my own (move on Mr. R.) it is the reason why I didn't blog yesterday. After a long day in school yesterday, it was that time again for the Governing Body of Lyndon Green to meet. The main agenda item focussed on the future of the school and it's future direction in terms of academisation etc. It was a very intense meeting with everyone asking very searching questions and all searching for a common cause, that is, to raise standards even further for the children of Lyndon Green as well as strengthening the community of Sheldon. Everyone fulfilled their role of questioning, supporting and taking time to consider the direction. It is only the start of the journey. After finally getting home around 9:40 and still having to eat, I still like to have my downtime but it does have its knock on effect the next day.
Busy days in school the last two days, with trips out again for classes and rehearsals in Year 6 for their end of term production, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Year 5 are completing a Field Trip all week looking at rivers, looking out of my window this afternoon, (yes brother I did) I could see the other Year 5 classes constructing their own river systems.
I will keep this brief this evening and allow the pictures taken directly from our Twitter site to speak for themselves. Looking at them you can see many images from our Class 10M (superb Twitter input today, pull you socks up the rest of you please) they are children from our Cognition and Learning Resource base. I am sure more pictures will be added from the other classes throughout the weeks ahead.
I'm sorry for such a brief blog but that is as much as you are getting this evening. I will be much brighter after going for a swim in coffee. Night everyone.
